It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of India’s first corporate-sponsored business school. The founders of IMI have built this institution with a sense of clarity and purpose. Change was the guiding force behind setting up the IMI group of institutions because business success is defined by the mantras of change. We strongly believe that we are one of the top business schools in the country, as we not only keep up with change but lead it. At IMI, we take pride in being catalysts to ignite young minds.
The IMI faculty is known for its skills in combining frontline research with academic excellence and global relevance. With the strength of such knowledge and tools, our students are expected to excel in today’s and tomorrow’s business world.Today’s emerging markets know no borders. Companies are looking out for these markets as an opportunity to build long-term value. Emerging market multinationals are equally active. They do not follow traditional textbook models to grow. Vertical integration with strong supply chain is the backbone of our manufacturing. At IMI, we always strive to innovate and help our students to learn multiple aspects of contemporary managerial practices.
In the next few years we are planning to move at great speed on two or three major fronts. First, we are very fortunate to have some of the finest intellectuals in the domain of management education. The challenge is not only to harness this capability, but to also add to it by getting on board some more luminaries to sustain IMI's intellectual edge. Second, we have identified executive education as a key focus area. We are targeting large corporate houses, which in the next few years would play a catalytic role in India's global thrust for intellectual capacity
building. Several Centres of Excellence, which are already active, will now focus on training, research and other capacity building activities. Third, in our quest to deliver high quality intellectual inputs, augmentation of our research infrastructure is one of our priorities. Physical infrastructure wise, we have expanded significantly. We have modern lecture theatres, syndicate and conference rooms, faculty offices, and residential accommodation as well as dining and extra-curricular facilities for high-ranking corporate executives and students alike.
In keeping with our vision to be a premier global business school, we are also leveraging on our affiliations with some of the leading management schools of Europe for executive education, and student and faculty exchange. IMI is already a preferred choice with some of France’s top business schools and attracts over a dozen students to our various programmes every year.
Over the years, IMI has enjoyed the patronage of the corporate sector, as is evident from our impressive placement record and increased involvement leading corporates in executive education in addition to different areas of research. We look forward to building on this strong equity of IMI in future.
We are also fortunate to enjoy the confidence of the student community, who continue to be our flag bearers as we together embark upon the onerous task of taking IMI to the next level. Our two new campuses in Kolkata (IMI-K) and Bhubaneswar (IMI-B) have been operational for over three years now. The IMI Kolkata campus is centrally located. The IMI Bhubaneswar campus is located in a specially developed area in the city. All our campuses have state-of-the-art infrastructure with top-notch academic and residential facilities. They offer not only a scholarly and professional ambience, but also a fulfilling campus life necessary for all-round development of a student. The academic block is centrally air-conditioned with spacious lecture theatres that are equipped with the latest audio-visual teaching aids and wireless laptops for students to access the intranet. The residential block houses single-occupancy hostel rooms for students. We extend a warm welcome to all of you to experience the International Management Institute,
