Rizvi College of Hotel Management was established in 1992 with a view to cater to the technical and professional requirements of the global hospitality industry. It began with a handful of students and today the institute boasts of strength close to the 1000 mark and is highly optimistic about the future.
The horizon of the Indian hospitality industry continues to expand at a dynamic pace. Today the hospitality industry contributes invaluably to the Indian economy by creating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities and by being one of the highest grosser of foreign exchange for the national treasury.
Looking at the pace of growth of the hospitality industry, it is envisaged that there will soon be a marked shortage of managerial and technically skilled professionals. Keeping this in mind, our curriculum is designed to meet the challenges and demands of domestic and global markets.
The aim of the Institute is to produce professionals suited to all sectors of the hospitality industry including administration, planning and strategy development.
The Programmes conducted at our institute have the following objectives:
- To provide students with knowledge and skills which form the basis for an effective approach to management in various sectors of the hospitality industry.
- To produce professionals who can apply their managerial skills to the resolution of various hospitality related situations. At the operational level, to provide intensive training in all core areas and to give to the world, professionals who can compete in the global market in their specialized roles as Chefs, Restaurant Managers, Executive Housekeepers and Front Office Managers.

Training and Placement
The Training and Placement Department organizes a number of training programs for the students with the help of in-house experts. The activities have proved exceptionally useful in shaping the career of students. The Department co-ordinates with Faculty members and Councillors /Co-Councillors in moulding the students to the requirements of the hospitality industry.
Placements for the Final year students begin early September and continue till March and sometimes till May; thereby ensuring maximum advantage to the students. The Training and Placement Department facilitates on campus recruitment by giving a common platform to students seeking jobs. It invites Five Star properties and other recruiters such as Airlines and International fast-food chains to be a part of the placement process at Rizvi HMCT.
