Why to study in Singapore?

  1. Singapore provides the world-class education in very affordable fee. Students can balance out their costs because of its proximity to India.

THE LANGUAGE

Singapore is often confused for a Chinese-speaking destination but you will quickly find that almost everyone speaks at least two languages and prefers to communicate in English.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Not only is the public transportation inexpensive, it is incredibly easy to use. The signs are written in English and all of the stops on the trains and buses are announced in English.

You can get anywhere in the city on the trains and buses without worrying about getting lost because the friendly locals are always willing to help! The public transportation is extraordinarily clean, so you can take a seat and relax while zipping around the city.

Location

Singapore is perhaps the closest study abroad destination for Indian Students. A mere 5-hour air travel separates India from Singapore. Also, its unique location has made it a hub of activity and attracts large crowds of Asian students as well as students from Australia and even the Americas.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Singapore is the Asia-Pac regional headquarters for most global organisations and is therefore a hub of major economic activity.

There are various international companies in Singapore where students can look forward to excellent professional networking as well as job opportunities in one of the best business environments in Asia.

Multicultural

Just as Singapore is located close to the hub of south- east Asia, Singapore itself is a multicultural and diverse island nation.

People living, studying and working in Singapore have originated from all over the world and as a result, the country is the collection of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and religions. This incredible diversity functions in harmony, as the nation is relatively free from conflict.

Close to Home

Studying abroad is very difficult for many people, as it often means moving to another side of the world, away from home, friends, and family.

Singapore, in comparison with the US or Australia for example, is very close to India and with an Indian population of nearly 10%, living in Singapore won’t feel very far away from home at all!

Climate

Singapore is situated near the equator and has a typically tropical climate, with abundant rainfall, high and uniform temperatures, and high humidity all year round.

Many of its climate variables, such as temperature and relative humidity, do not show large month-to-month variation.

However, many variables exhibit prominent diurnal (or daily) variations from hour to hour, indicating the strong influence that solar heating has on the local climate.

Seasons

Singapore’s climate is characterised by two monsoon seasons separated by inter-monsoonal periods (see table below).

The Northeast Monsoon occurs from December to early March, and the Southwest Monsoon from June to September. The major weather systems affecting Singapore that can lead to heavy rainfall are:

Monsoon surges, or strong wind episodes in the Northeast Monsoon flow bringing about major rainfall events;

Sumatra squalls, an organised line of thunderstorms travelling eastward across Singapore, having developed over the island of Sumatra or Straits of Malacca west of us;

Afternoon and evening thunderstorms caused by strong surface heating and by the sea breeze circulation that develops in the afternoon.
